The Child Study Team (CST) identifies, evaluates, and plans Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students experiencing learning difficulties. The team also includes a social worker and a school psychologist. Related service providers (Speech Therapist, Occupational Therapist & Physical Therapist) also actively contribute to the CST. The school nurse provides medical information, as well as hearing and vision screening as needed.
The CST provides appropriate consultation and monitoring services for students, parents, and staff and determines pupil eligibility for special education and related services in accordance with federal and state requirements through a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), as well as the processes of the Student Support Committee (SSC). Services at our school can include individual or small group academic instruction by a special education teacher either in or out of the classroom, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech services.
